Cohen and Spielberg

I have to resist the urge to just call Sacha Baron Cohen ‘Borat’ because damn it he is just so much more than that. He is a truly tremendous actor, and even though there are just so many great lines in BORAT, none of them are my favourite of his… Although that’s largely down to all those people who run around and shout ‘issss niiiice!’ and ask me for high fives all the time. They totally killed it for me. Now though, it looks like Mr Cohen is going to be going into serious waters and hooking up with Mr Spielberg for THE TRIAL OF THE CHICAGO SEVEN. The film is based on the true story of the anti-Vietnam protesters who disrupted the 1968 Democratic party convention. Bricks were thrown, tear gas was used in return and the center of Chicago was consumed by flames. Cohen will allegedly be playing Abbie Hoffman, one of the protesters who used a series of pranks to campaign against the war, and was one of the eight protesters blamed with the whole mess.
