Colin Farrell being eyed for lead in Total Recall remake, others in the running?

From Jerry Dandridge re-imagined to Douglas Quaid???

Remember how, at the end of July, we let you know that UNDERWORLD director Len Wiseman was in final negotiations to helm a TOTALL RECALL retread? Well, three months later (minus a week) it looks like Wiseman and Columbia have thrown some names in the running. The top contender: one Colin Farrell (right).

THR’s Heat Vision claims that Michael Fassbender and Tom Hardy are also in the mix to step into the extra-large work boots worn by Arnie Schwarzenegger in the original 1990 film. No offers have been put out to anyone, though Farrell is said to be the frontrunner.

Only trouble is scheduling. We all know Farrell has recently wrapped FRIGHT NIGHT (stay tuned for our set visit), and that a crime drama BY VIRTUE FALL is on his imminent docket. However, if production on that film follows suit, Farrell could be ready for TOTAL RECALL by January or so.

Tom Hardy, fresh off the announcement to play a heavy in BATMAN 3, also has the oft-delayed FURY ROAD for George Miller still in the works. He’s currently filming THIS MEANS WAR and TINKER, TAILOR, SOLDIER, SPY.

Michael Fassbender, who may be the least known, may also have the toughest schedule to work around. He’s currently filming X-MEN: FIRST CLASS, with AT SWIM-TWO-BIRDS (with Farrell attached as well) and FABLE III in production.

But enough of the logistics. Let’s hear who of the three you’d love to see play a 21st century Quaid? Is it Farrell, Hardy or Fassbender? Or is there someone else entirely you deem better for the job?
