Colin Farrell to join Matthew McConaughey in Guy Ritchie’s Toff Guys

Well alright, alright, alright. Word has come down the wire via The Hollywood Reporter that Colin Farrell will be joining the cast of Guy Ritchie's TOFF GUYS. Upon boarding the film, Farrell has set himself up to star alongside other Hollywood heavy-hittters Matthew McConaughey, Henry Golding, Hugh Grant Michelle Dockery and Jeremy Strong for a new crime drama that some say is bound to remind Ritchie fans of his SNATCH and LOCK, STOCK, AND TWO SMOKING BARRELS films. In addition to directing TOFF GUYS, Ritchie also wrote the script with Marn Davies and Ivan Atkinson.

For TOFF GUYS, McConaughey will play a businessman who has built a weed empire and now wants out. As the plot thickens, the film finds its other characters either being helpful or sabotaging the boss' plan of escape. Dockery will act at the businessman's wife, with Golding playing the part of a Vietnamese gangster. Meanwhile, Hugh Grant is expected to step into the shoes of a shifty photographer who makes it his business to snap salacious shots of McConaughey's character. It's when those photos are used as blackmail that things really start to spiral out of control.

As for Farrell, the IN BRUGES and SEVEN PSYCHOPATHS actor will star as a character named Coach, a gruff man who trains MMA fighters.

For the moment, Ritchie is powering through the post-production process of Disney's live-action version of ALADDIN. Starring Will Smith, Naomi Scott, Billy Magnussen, Nasim Pedrad, Mena Massoud, Marwan Kenzari, Numan Acar, and Navid Negahban, the highly-anticipated fantasy adventure is expected to magic carpet ride its way into theaters on May 24, 2019.
