So when a movie takes around 8 months to go from theaters to DVD, it’s kind of a big deal. Case in point is the recently announced DVD release for THE COLLECTOR, a film that hit theaters back in July 2009–and is currently scheduled to hit DVD in April 2010. Wow… just WOW…
I can’t say I understand the reasoning behind such a move, and maybe the date won’t last, but according to VideoETA, the non-committed April 2010 is the date to watch out for.
Movies, either good or bad, don’t take that long to hit DVD these days. And yet there you go, 8 months from theater to DVD. Incredible. But hey, with such a long break, they could probably get away with pimping it out as a new film when it hits video. We shall see. Stick around for the ‘official’ DVD release date, which should likely be announced in the next few weeks.
