Commercials director Nicolai Fuglsig set for real-time thriller Brass Monkey

Nicolai Fuglsig, Danish director of high profile TV adverts for Coca Cola, Guiness et. al, has just struck a deal to make his feature film debut at Paramount. And word is the film will be a kinetic real-time thriller called BRASS MONKEY.

According to Deadline, Fuglsig came up with the idea for BRASS MONKEY (and designed the art to the right he helped pitched the flick with), which is placed in the middle of a grisly murder spree in Los Angeles. Brian Horiuchi (CIRCLE OF EIGHT) will rewrite an original script by Paolo Marinou-Blanco).

I gotta say, as unfamiliar as I am with this Fuglsig cat, I’m kind of in favor of this one. Here we have a foreign director with a pitch of his own actually getting major studio support. No remake, sequel, prequel, board-game or comic book. Maybe Paramount suits saw DRIVE and realize what a quality film is. Remember, Nic Refn is Danish as well!

How about you? You like the sound of BRASS MONKEY? You cool with the hire?
