Much like the deal they have with the upcoming RAMBO, Lionsgate will act as distributor, with Nu Image/ Millennium initially throwing up the big bucks to get it made.
The details on the new entries in the CONAN universe have not been revealed, other than they’re being written by Thomas Dean Donnelly and Joshua Oppenheimer (SAHARA). Production was initially slated to begin later this year, but that’s obviously been postponed due to the writer’s strike. How long the strike goes all depends on when the new CONAN franchise will be unleashed upon us!
Very cool news with Lionsgate on board, now it’s just a matter of seeing if people really want to see another CONAN movie with someone other than Arnold Schwarzenegger. The special effects of today could make some spectacular sequences and outstanding creatures, but without the perfect lead as CONAN… well, it just won’t work. Stick around for more on CONAN as this whole deal progresses.
