The boys over at ComingSoon.net scored a tasted morsel this morning – the first teaser poster for the Millennium Films / Nu Image remake/update/revision of CONAN THE BARBARIAN!
They’re not calling it a remake of the 1981 version staring Arnold Schwarzenegger, but a revision of the original source material by Robert E. Howard. Apparently the Schwarzenegger films weren’t true enough to the original characters, but this film will be.
Personally, I dug Schwarzenegger’s CONAN THE BARBARIAN (though THE DESTROYER sucked ass), but that doesn’t mean I’m not open to checking this sucker out… could be pretty damn cool, if done right. Maybe this time around they’ll throw in a few more beasts and mystical creatures than just a giant snake… though, I must admit, the giant snake that Arnie wrestles with in BARBARIAN was pretty damn cool.
Anyway, no cast or crew have been announced yet (so this is just a generic shirtless man as Conan), but we’ll keep you posted as soon as we hear something.
