With CONSTANTINE, Keanu plays a detective from the land of devils and angles- and yes, although the trailers have a dark look to them, he’s still playing Ted Logan. But I must say, this one looks pretty cool!
An insider gave us a review of CONSTANTINE, as she had a special screening of it last night. And as far as I can tell, the outlook is not good. Here are some excerpts from her review:
The movie has it’s up and downs… The script in a sense does not know what it wants to be from time to time and the dialog is not really well done in some of the scenes in the film. The cinematography is very well done in portraying the grim aspects of the Los Angeles but it’s too dark in some places and it seems to me that it was done that way in order to hide some of the special effects, which are not too shabby but not as well done as one might have hoped.
The movie is a good time killer but don’t expect much. With a lousy lead character that really should have been cut out of the script altogether and a story that is a rehash of the PROPHECY films, it’s only a decent film experience at best. Maybe with a better rewrite and a shift in focus to the female detective, it would have been a better movie in my opinion than it is now.
So there you have it, the first look at CONSTANTINE, and it looks like we’re going to get out of this flick as much as we’ve gotten out of every other Keanu Reeves flick.
