Cool Horror Video: Stop-motion short drops RoboCop into a time loop

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

It's fun to see that some people are using their time at home during the global pandemic to hone their stop-motion animation skills. A couple weeks ago, we shared a very cool short created by Mike Mendez called THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE, and today we've come across another cool stop-motion short that was created by Alexandre Poncet of StopMotionFrance.

Embedded above, Poncet's short is called REPEAT and it drops sci-fi action icon RoboCop into a strange time loop where he keeps finding himself in a battle with an ED-209. Every time ED-209 destroys him, he wakes up back at the start of the loop and lives the scenario all over again. It's a GROUNDHOG DAY, EDGE OF TOMORROW, HAPPY DEATH DAY sort of situation, and RoboCop has to figure out what's going on here.

Making things even stranger and more interesting is the fact that RoboCop and ED-209 aren't the only pop culture characters involved. There's also Captain Kirk, Kylo Ren, Pacman, and Shaun the Sheep.

If you've got six minutes to spare, REPEAT is definitely worth checking out.
