Cool Horror Videos: Rare interview with Exorcist director William Friedkin

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

Director Mick Garris has been digging into his archives and bringing us some pretty cool vintage interviews these last few months; back in October I shared his 1980 chat with Jamie Lee Curtis (who was promoting PROM NIGHT at the time), while last month I brought along his talk with THE SHINING's Scatman Crothers. Today's video is focuses on the indelible William Friedkin, director of THE EXORCIST.

The interview is from 1979, six years after the release of THE EXORCIST; as always, Friedkin isn't afraid to voice his opinion, and the interview proves to be really entertaining and informative. (Just wait til he starts talking about THE EXORCIST II.) Take a look at it below.
