We’re creeping up on 3 months since we last saw a look at Eli Craig’s back-wooded horror send-up TUCKER & DALE VS EVIL (visit the trailer HERE). Well, since the flick premiered last Friday at Sundance, we’ve just pawed a grip of new stills and a fresh poster for the gory good time (find ’em below!)
Co-written with Morgan Jurgenson, Craig turns his feature length debut on a pair of hillbillies (Alan Tudyk and Tyler Labine) who are falsely accused of being killers by a group of college kids camping near the duo’s cabin.
Sounds like a decent horror sitcom, a “Three’s Company” of macabre misunderstandings. And given the comic aplomb of the two leads (Tudyk in particular), this shite is no doubt leaps and bounds ahead of say, TRANSYLMANIA and STAN HELSING, two prime examples of a currently pathetic horror/comedy subgenre, the very same I took a swipe at just last week. Besides, if FARGO taught us anything, seeing a half a dude stuck in a wood-chipper is somehow funny!
“30 Rock” cutie Katrina Bowden also stars, doing so alongside Jesse Moss, Philip Granger, Brandon Jay McLaren, Christie Laing, Chelan Simmons, Travis Nelson, Alex Arsenault, Karen Reigh, Tye Evans and Bill Baksa.
Hopefully this thing locks a distribution deal soon. With Sundance wrapping up on the 31st, we should have something for you shortly.
