While most people after this weekend’s “Saturday Night Live” were talking about Lady Gaga’s typically bizarre musical performance or Justin Timberlake’s return to Digital Short form, neither were as funny as Bradley Cooper (the actual Bradley Cooper) going head-to-head with Nic Cage (Andy Samberg) in a new Weekend Update segment titled “Get in the Cage.”
Cooper seems to be having a little too much fun with the bit, at times hamming it up for the crowd, but Samberg’s Cage is a perfect caricature of the insanity that is our favorite insane actor. I only wish that there was a world where Samberg’s versions of Cage, Billy Bob Thornton and Mark Wahlberg could all interact. Samberg is hardly the best impressionist on the cast but it’s his broad and wild interpretations of actors that will sometimes miss but when they hit, they hit hard. Check out the clip below!
