Remember Brian Atene? He was that actor who, in the mid-1980s filmed an audition tape for Stanley Kubrick to be considered for a starring role in FULL METAL JACKET. He didn’t get the part. And he went on to not get any other parts for the next 25 years. Until now.
As part of their weekly “Web Redemption” segment, Comedy Central’s “Tosh.0” tracked down Atene and got him to come to Hollywood. Lucky for us, Atene brought his special brand of crazy with him. He claims that he did, in fact, attend Julliard (on scholarship!!) and that he had classes with Kevin Spacey (who, according to Atene, is as “gay as pink ink”).
Unlike most Web Redemptions, which are mostly goofy, Daniel Tosh actually got “Cougar Town” creator Bill Lawrence to give Atene a shot. It’s funny and even kinda sweet. Check it out below…
