Cool Videos: Jim Henson on making Muppets

JoBloJoBlo

Jim Henson fans, prepare yourself for some sweet childhood nostalgia.

Below we have a 15-minute, 1969 segment from Iowa Public Television’s “Volume See” program featuring Muppet maestro Jim Henson in rare footage, showing us easy ways to make our very own Muppets using items around our very own homes.

But much more than that, it’s a fascinating glimpse at the man responsible for many of our childhood’s favorite characters and icons. And I gotta admit, it’s bittersweet hearing Kermit the Frog in Henson’s own voice as he speaks. It’s a wonderful little video, and perhaps especially so now if you have children of your own to share it with.
