If you live in the Quad Cities of Iowa and have a child (or are one) that looks kinda evil and really should be seen wielding a blood-soaked sickle, today’s your lucky day!
An article in the Quad City Times announced yesterday that filming of CHILDREN OF THE CORN remake (which I last told you about HERE) will begin filming there next month, and it’s looking to cast-up! (Area children will be interviewed Thursday through Monday for speaking roles, featured roles and as background extras.)
Shooting is scheduled to take place between Sept. 3-30, with a budget in the $2 million range. The finished flick will debut on the Sci-Fi channel next year, but receive a theatrical release in Europe.
When asked why he chose Iowa, director Donald Borchers (who produced the original piece of garbage) had a succinct explanation: “My needs are quite simple. I need corn,” Borchers said. “And I understand you have that throughout the state.”
Thought-provoking. Check out the article for more info.
