Of course that’s not to say he doesn’t have any offers. The problem is it seems Bale has one too many offers to choose from! Seriously, the dude basically has his pick of any role in Hollywood at this point. Namely it seems a few projects particular have their eyes set on Bale, one of which is Spike Lee’s OLDBOY remake.
You see Variety just posted up an article that runs down Bale’s current options for his post-Batman gig. They include Warner Bros.’ remake of “A Star Is Born,” starring Beyonce Knowles and directed by Clint Eastwood; “Gold,” which Michael Mann will direct; a remake of Korean thriller “Oldboy,” to be directed by Spike Lee for Mandate, in which Bale would play the villain; Relativity’s “Out of the Furnace,” to be directed by Scott Cooper; and “Noah,” Darren Aronofsky’s biblical epic at Paramount.
Hear that folks? Bale could be the villain in OLDBOY! That would be pretty sick, no? Personally if he doesn’t choose OLDBOY, I’d love to see him team with Darren Aronofsky for NOAH. But that’s just me.
Bale (above) has made it obvious he won’t be choosing a role until after he’s finished with THE DARK KNIGHT RISES, which should wrap this November. Hell the talented actor isn’t even giving any hints! If he does indeed choose to star in the Spike Lee thriller you can bet we’ll be right here to tell you about it!
