Could Jason Voorhees & Friday the 13th be the next victim of found footage?!

Do you guys remember that HATCHET 3 update we hit you all with not to long ago? In that update we found out that Adam Green was approached about attempting to bring a classic slasher franchise into this whole ‘found footage’ thing going on. Green thankfully passed on the project… but that doesn’t mean it’s not getting made.

The guys over at ShockTillYouDrop are reporting today that said slasher franchise could actually be FRIDAY THE 13TH!

This is according to some small rumblings around the industry. Platinum Dunes’ Brad Fuller assured Shock that there was no movement on the long-awaited sequel to FRIDAY THE 13TH. He did however refuse to comment on whether or not the company was taking other pitches for the film. Brad Fuller said the following: “There’s no other place I’d rather be than Crystal Lake right now.”

STYD also point out that an army of key players would have to Ok a FRIDAY THE 13TH film: Paramount, New Line and Sean Cunningham. So chances are this report about FRIDAY THE 13TH going the ‘found footage’ route is bogus but we can’t completely write it off, can we?
