I kid you not ladies and gentlemen! Apparently there could possibly be another RING flick in the works using the ever-popular ‘found-footage’ method!
You don’t have to take my word for it though. The Hollywood Reporter just got the chance to chat it up with Paramount Film Group president Adam Goodman about a number of projects including TRANSFORMERS 4, TOP GUN 2 and more! But we’re here to point out a little piece of info Mr. Goodman dropped regarding THE RING franchise. Check it:
“The thing we’re most proud of is that the three Paranormal movies, Jackass 3D, The Devil Inside and Justin Bieber: Never Say Never were all made for $41 million or $42 million combined, and they have just crossed $1 billion at the global box office. The Ring is something that really lends itself to this format right now, so we’re talking to [producer] Walter Parkes about doing something with that.”
That was in response to a question about the success of micro-budget pictures. So could THE RING be going the route of micro-budget? It certainly looks like it!
How are you guys feeling about this? Would you dig a new RING flick via found-footage? Spit some bullets below and let us know if you’re jiving with this idea as we wait for more updates from this potentially intriguing project to come our way.
