Could these three be the final contenders for the role of Finnick Odair in Catching Fire?

Just last week we ran the rumor that Robert Pattinson was being considered for a role in THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE, but either it wasn’t true or he wasn’t interested and the studio has subsequently narrowed its options down to strapping young stars Armie Hammer, Taylor Kitsch, and Garrett Hedlund.

The role in question is that of Finnick Odair, winner of the 65th Annual Hunger Games (Katniss and Peeta were victorious in the 74th), and while Lionsgate is also looking at whether it wants to put a newcomer in the role casting may be announced as early as this week.

Each of the men mentioned in conjunction with the role have their own qualities and stardom situation, with Kitsch most in the need of a sure-fire hit after JOHN CARTER and BATTLESHIP.  Hedlund is currently starring in ON THE ROAD but doesn’t really have anything going after that, while Hammer is most poised for official breakout status when THE LONE RANGER releases next year despite the lackluster critical performance of MIRROR MIRROR.  I’d undoubtably pick Hammer for the part, but he also seems to be the least available of the three.

What say you?

I say that any excuse to run more pictures of Jennifer Lawrence is a good excuse.
