It’s no secret that Dimension is retooling its hugely successful 90s horror franchise SCREAM in a trilogy for the new century. It’s also no secret that aside from original writer Kevin Williamson, stars Neve Campbell, David Arquette and his wife Courteney Cox Arquette (who met on the set of the 1996 original) are also poised to reprise their roles.
Well, looks like Ms. Cougartown herself (Cox Arquette) has offered a few words about her return to the skin of tabloid sleaze-ster Gale Weathers for a 4th film (courtesy of Yahoo). First off, she logistically notes, “there are really only a few of us that survived.” Definitely true!
As far as a character update goes, she adds: “They’re (Dewey and Gale) probably back living in Woodsboro, I think that he’s probably still deputy, and I’ve had a lot of kids. I don’t know. I’m probably miserable, and then I’m sure a lot of murdering will happen.”
Oh it better!
I love the original SCREAM. I liked part 2 as well, especially the over-the-top turn from Laurie McLaughlin. SCREAM 3 was pretty abysmal, but I can’t help smile every time I see Parker Posey’s smoked hambone performance in that one as well. “My lawyer, loved that!” (thanks in advance to maybe the one person who remembers that line).
Hopefully though, the fourth installment will show some of the bite the ‘96 flick did.
Naw’mean?!?
