I met Craig Robinson once. It was at a press junket for HOT TUB TIME MACHINE and at the tail end of the event he was wearing a wig, sunglasses and singing a cover of Jesse’s Girl on stage. He was a very jovial, nice dude as you might expect and therefore it’s a bit hard to see him in this newest role, as the most evil man on earth.
Craig Robinson has joined the cast of the sure-to-be-protested RAPTUREPALOOZA, a developing comedy from Lionsgate. And from my hints above, you might guess who he’s playing in the end times scenario. From Deadline:
“The comedy takes place a year after a religious apocalypse strips away half the world’s population. Ben and Lindsey try to reestablishing their sandwich cart business. Beyond the occasional blood rainstorm and talking locusts that surface occasionally, the sandwich sellers have a new problem: the Anti-Christ (Robinson) decides he wants to take Lindsey as his bride.”
Well since JAY AND SETH VS. THE APOCALYPSE seems to be delayed indefinitely, I guess we’ll have to find our end of the world laughs elsewhere. I’m curious to see who else will end up attached to this.
