This is going to be good…
If you're not sold on director Joon-ho Bong's SNOWPIERCER yet, you should watch this red band trailer. The story goes that a new ice age caused by a failed experiment to stop global warming has killed virtually all life on the planet. Now, the sole survivors live on a train called Snowpiercer and struggle with the class system implemented on the train. It's about to become a crazy train!
I was waiting to see the scope of this movie since it was first announced, and now that I have, I couldn’t be more pleased. The interior and exterior shots of the train look fantastic which is more reason to be excited that it's actually making its way to theaters. Also, I have to mention the great Tilda Swinton, she looks to have done an incredible job and no doubt had a lot of fun playing the insane Mason.
Obvious social commentary aside, SNOWPIERCER looks fantastic on every level; the visuals alone are breathtaking. I can't wait to finally see it in on the big screen this summer – with Bong's cut intact, no less. Along with Swinton, Bong has assembled a great cast including Chris Evans, Song Kangho, Jamie Bell, Octavia Spencer, Ewen Bremner, Alison Pill, John Hurt, and Ed Harris.
SNOWPIERCER opens in theaters on June 27th 2014.
