Creed III: What Did You Think?

Adonis Creed is back in the ring with Creed III, the latest sequel of the long-running franchise. Michael B. Jordan returns to star in the sequel, but he also took on directing duties as well. The film took in $5.5 million with Thursday night previews, putting it on track for a franchise-best opening of $40 million.

After dominating the boxing world, Adonis Creed (Michael B. Jordan) has been thriving in both his career and family life. When a childhood friend and former boxing prodigy, Damian (Jonathan Majors), resurfaces after serving a long sentence in prison, he is eager to prove that he deserves his shot in the ring. The face off between former friends is more than just a fight. To settle the score, Adonis must put his future on the line to battle Damian – a fighter who has nothing to lose. In addition to Michael B. Jordan and Jonathan Majors, Creed III also stars Tessa Thompson, Wood Harris, Mila Davis-Kent, Florian Munteanu, and Phylicia Rashad.

Creed III has been well received so far, including a glowing review from our own JimmyO. “Creed III lives up to the ring that Rocky built,” JimmyO wrote. “The third in the Creed films series is inspiring and powerful. Jordan has done a marvelous job not only continuing to bring us this great character but also directing a solid continuation. If there is one minor complaint, the film is so fast-paced that it feels almost too short. Yes, this is a crowdpleaser of a movie. With excellent performances from the main cast, especially Jordan and Majors, it’s easy to invest in the story. Don’t pull any punches. If you are a fan of the previous films, you’ll want to see Creed III as soon as possible.” You can check out the rest of his review right here.

Creed III is currently sitting at 86% on Rotten Tomatoes, which places it below the original’s 95% but above the first sequel’s 83%. Let us know what you thought of Creed III in the comments below!
