While looking for info on the upcoming SE DVDs for David Cronenberg’s THE FLY and the less-successful but still red THE FLY 2, I stumbled on an article on About.com that was originally for Cronenberg’s upcoming A HISTORY OF VIOLENCE. Instead, Cronenberg was asked about who should star in the upcoming remake, to which he replied, “It don’t think it should be remade. So there’s your answer: No one.”
Cronenberg has spoken, and I’m sure if Vincent Price were still alive, he’d probably disagree with the remake as well. If someone knows when this nostalgia trip Hollywood’s on finally stops and we get back to new ideas, let me know. Until then, I’ll be saving up for some sweet DVDs (and no, I won’t be buying DOLLS).
