Cult of Chucky unrated Blu-ray release date & special features

This is turning into CHUCKY DAY here at AITH, and I for one am not complaining. Yes, this morning we not only got the news that a red-band CULT OF CHUCKY trailer was headed our way but then a mere hour later, we were handed the full trailer in all it's Chucky-filled glory!

I'm not going to lie, in that post I was trying to just get the trailer out to you guys asap. In doing so I kind of skipped some of the cooler elements about the flick's home video release coming up on October 3d. But let's go through all of that here.

First off, yes, CULT OF CHUCKY will be hitting UNRATED Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital October 3rd. Below I have listed out the sweet new special features contained on the releases, including two making-of featurettes and a killer commentary by Don Mancini and puppeteer Tony Gardner.

Plus an all-new, more in-depth synopsis for the new flick, which you can check out below as well. After working your way through all of this awesome new info let us know how excited YOU are for CULT OF CHUCKY on Facebook, Twitter, and/or Instagram!

New CULT OF CHUCKY synopsis via EW:

Written and directed by longtime franchise architect Don Mancini, this seventh movie in the Child’s Play series finds Curse of Chucky star Fiona Dourif returning to reprise the role of Nica, who is confined to an asylum for the criminally insane, wrongly convinced that she — not the possessed doll Chucky murdered her entire family. But when her psychiatrist introduces a new group therapy tool — a “Good Guy” doll — a string of grisly deaths plagues the asylum and Nica starts to wonder if maybe she isn’t crazy after all. Andy (Alex Vincent), Chucky’s now grownup nemesis from the original Child’s Play, races to Nica’s aid. But to save her, he’ll have to get past Tiffany (Jennifer Tilly), Chucky’s long-ago bride, who will do anything, no matter how deadly or depraved, to help her beloved (and, once again, Brad Dourif-voiced) devil doll, who is possessed by the spirit of serial killer, Charles Lee Ray.

CULT OF CHUCKY Special Features:

Inside the Insanity of Chucky: a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the film.

Good Guy Gone Bad: The Incarnations of Chucky – A peek into Alterian, the studio behind Chucky’s puppeteering.

Commentary featuring writer-director Don Mancini and head puppeteer Tony Gardner.

CULT OF CHUCKY will be available unrated on Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital Oct. 3rd, and in addition, the flick will be part of the Chucky: Complete 7-Movie Collection, also releasing October 3rd!
