Director Adam Randall’s vampire movie Night Teeth was just released through the Netflix streaming service yesterday, and Deadline reports that the filmmaker has already lined up his next genre project in the movie Curfew for Paramount Players.
Curfew started out as a spec script written by Monsterland (the 2016 movie, not the Hulu series) contributor Dick Grunert, which was featured on the Blood List, a list of industry professionals’ favorite unproduced genre scripts. Since then, the script has received revisions from Last Ferry director Jaki Bradley and her writing partner Kevin Armento, as well as Cam co-writer Isa Mazzei. The story centers on
a rebellious teenage girl who is sent to stay with her grandmother in a sleepy town whose quirky traditions include a curfew banning anyone from going out at night. When the girl ventures out after dark she discovers the murky truth behind the town’s mysterious history.
I don’t know what the monsters in this movie are, but I look forward to finding out.
Randall had this to say about the project:
This is a fun monster movie that harks back to Amblin movies of yore. There is an intriguing conflict between the teenage girl and the older generations but it also has the thrills and action of a monster movie. It’s a great script.”
Curfew is being produced by Vincent Gatewood of Unique Features and Chris Armogida of Nightshade Entertainment. Unique Features’ Bob Shaye, who used to be the head of New Line Cinema, serves as executive producer.
In addition to Night Teeth, Randall has previously directed the Helen Hunt horror film I See You, the sci-fi action movie iBoy, and the action-thriller Level Up.
