CW’s zombie show The Awakening casts its lead sisters

We got the news back in January that the CW was going ghoulish for their newest show, “The Awakening”, about two sisters coming of age and facing off against one another amidst the beginning of a zombie uprising. Sounds promising (despite the whole “it’s from The CW” angle), if only for the fact that we can’t have enough zombies on the air as far as I’m concerned. Now, according to Deadline.com, the two sisters have been settled upon.

Lucy Griffiths (pictured below) and Meredith Hagner (right) will be the siblings who bicker amongst themselves while battling the undead. Hagner can currently be seen on FX’s “Lights Out”, while Griffiths is a Brit who appeared in the BBC’s successful “Robin Hood” series.

David Von Ancken (“Californication”) is directing the pilot episode of “The Awakening”; we’ll let you know when it gets an airdate (most likely in the fall).
