In another one of those ‘Where the hell is it?!’ moments, Variety reports that Shim Hyung-rae’s epic sci-fi/monster movie D-WAR is coming to North America at last.
The $145 million film about a giant snake which terrorizes Los Angeles in search of a girl who has the ability to turn it into a dragon (no, you’re not high) is to be shown off at Cannes in May, with a release planned for November here in North America. The film stars Jason Behr (THE GRUDGE, JACKIE BROWN’s Robert Forster and Amanda Brooks, and has been in the making for nearly 6 years (which is almost as long but not as close to EVIL DEAD IV’s 6,745 years). As well, you can visit the film’s official site for more info on the film.
While my B-Monster Movie-lovin’ brother would probably get a bigger kick out of this film than me, I’d give it a whirl, since Godzilla’s in retirement for the time being. And hey, where else can you find a film to make a comparision to your Johnson to?
