Dan Aykroyd says Ghostbusters has more laughs and scares than the original

I’m not sure you could throw any more gasoline on the GHOSTBUSTERS controversy fire if you tried, but Dan Aykroyd may have done just that. Paul Feig‘s upcoming remake is a little over a month away from a wide release, but Ray Stantz himself has seen the flick and had a few words to say that might ruffle some feathers. Take a look!

Dan Aykroyd on Paul Feig‘s GHOSTBUSTERS:

As originator of the original: Saw test screening of new movie. Apart from brilliant, genuine performances from the cast both female and male, it has more laughs and more scares than the first 2 films plus Bill Murray is in it! As one of millions of man-fans and Ray Stantz, I’m paying to see that and bringing all my friends!

So what are we thinking? Blowing smoke, or have we all been duped by another bad series of trailers for a Paul Feig film? At the end of the day, Feig usually delivers so I’m fascinated to see how GHOSTBUSTERS will fare. Don’t get me wrong, I’m certainly in the camp that’s not impressed with what I’ve seen, but after BRIDESMAIDS and SPY, I’m willing to give the benefit of the doubt to Feig and Co.

GHOSTBUSTERS opens in theaters on July 15, 2016.
