Daniel Bruhl and Emily VanCamp in talks to join Falcon & Winter Soldier

With AVENGERS: ENDGAME now behind us, the stage has been set for various characters to take the lead in their own stories, and many will be doing so in the handful of mini-series' which Marvel is cooking up for Disney+. One of those series is Falcon & Winter Soldier, which is slated to star Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan, but they may be joined by a few other Marvel Cinematic Universe characters.

Deadline has reported that Daniel Brühl and Emily VanCamp are also in talks to join the cast. Brühl of course played Helmut Zero in CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR, and VanVamp played Sharon Carter in CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER and CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR. Deadline has also heard that the gift which Falcon received at the end of AVENGERS: ENDGAME will figure into the mini-series as well. It was also announced that Kari Skogland has been tapped to direct all six-episodes of Falcon & Winter Soldier. Skogland is certainly a TV vet, having helmed episodes of Queer as Folk, Boardwalk Empire, The Borgias, The Killing, The Walking Dead, Vikings, Penny Dreadful, House of Cards, Fear the Walking Dead, The Handmaid's Tale, and many more. She's also directed episodes of several upcoming series, including AMC's NOS4A2, Starz's The Rook, and Showtime's The Loudest Voice. Falcon & Winter Soldier is slated for an August 2020 release on Disney+.

In addition to Falcon & Winter Soldier, we've got got WandaVision starring Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany, Loki starring Tom Hiddleston, as well as an untitled Hawkeye series starring Jeremy Renner. Plenty more MCU action to keep us going until long after we've turned to dust. Too soon?
