Earlier this week it was announced that Danny Boyle's TRAINSPOTTING sequel will hit U.K. theaters on January 27, 2017, and now we know when it will open in the U.S., thanks to EW.

The follow-up (which seems to be going by the title T2: TRAINSPOTTING) has been slated by Sony Pictures to have a limited release on February 3, 2017, before going wide on February 10th.

The film will take place 20 years after the events of the original movie, and is loosely based on author Irvine Welsh's book sequel Porno. Although some filming was done in March, production officially kicked off on Monday with Boyle directing from a script by John Hodge.

Returning cast members include Ewan McGregor, Ewen Bremner, Robert Carlyle, and Jonny Lee Miller, and last year Carlyle said T2 is one of the best scripts he's ever read. How excited are you for the long-awaited TRAINSPOTTING sequel?
