Strange career she’s got , this Thora Birch. She’s been in the business practically her entire life, starring in kiddie flicks like ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS and HOCUS POCUS when she was a just wee lass, and then – WHOA momma! – she grew up, as we all witnessed during AMERICAN BEAUTY. That film, combined with the quirky GHOST WORLD, seemed to be the dawn of a new age for Thora, and it looked like we could expect big things from her (as big as her cleavage).
Well, Hollywood’s a tricky bitch, and so far it just hasn’t gotten going for Ms. Birch – forgettable t.v. movies and direct-to-DVD fare has been her home since about 2001…
All this bringing me to , which certainly falls into the “I feel bad for Thora” category. The trailer for the DVD is up, we’ve got it below, and you can watch what appears to be a movie about a girl who keeps going to sleep and waking up in a shabby-looking David Lynch-meets- reality, complete with the required shadowy strangers and filthy walls. Our Arrow saw it and his appears to confirm what the trailer is trying to tell us: this is a desperate and redundant retread of things we’ve seen done better many times before, and Thora is most likely the only reason to allow this one into your home.
