Dark Country Bloodyface

I find it pretty damn cool that THE PUNISHER himself, Thomas Jane, decided to make his big-time feature directorial debut with a genre-centered flick like DARK COUNTRY. Perhaps now, I will finally be able to forgive him for taking part in the piece of absolute garbage that was THE MIST. And before all of you start going off like “What are you talking about?! THE MIST ruled! It had an ending with balls! allow me to set the record straight: Yeah, I can appreciate a movie that dares to go against the norm, but what Darabont pulled was a cheap, insulting abortion of a payoff. It wasn’t “brave”, it was an easy way out, looking to shock and thus, cowardly. Anyone who disagrees with me is not a parent.

Okay, sorry about that riff going on for so long. Back to DARK COUNTRY! Apparently the flick has a lead baddie nicknamed “Bloodyface” and up top and below are the first images of the dude. Nice stuff! Here’s how the plot works: Dick and Gina meet in Las Vegas, decide to get married and set out on a road trip across the desert. Along the way, they come across a mangled accident victim and try to help him, but “Bloodyface” instead turns their vacation into a nightmare.

Sounds pretty simple, but loaded with the potential for big-time fun! With Jane at the helm and starring as “Dick”, I believe we may be in for quite the ride. Plus, “Gina” is played by the super sultry Lauren German, who I’ve always had a bit of a crush on. Stuntman Con Schell plays ol’ “Bloodyface”.

COUNTRY was actually shot in 3D which would lead me to assume that it’ll be getting a theatrical release. However, said release has not yet been confirmed. Hopefully we’ll hear something real soon.
