I’m not sure if many of you are familiar with actress, Tracy Coogan. She did an amazing job playing the wife in ZOMBIE HONEYMOON (see The Pub’s glowing review here). She is also quite the cutie (as you can see above), so you might as well start getting to know her because I think she’s gonna be around for a while.
Case in point, she just scored the leading role in a new flick currently in preproduction called DARK WOODS. This one’s a mystery thriller written by John Muscarnero and directed by Mike Escobedo. For me, this flick is already one to look out for merely because of Coogan’s casting, but if you need some more convincing, then try your luck at the plot:
The story follows a couple who moves to a secluded cabin in the woods to cope with a terminal illness of the wife (played by Coogan). As her condition drags her deeper into dementia and darkness, the husband’s friendship with a local teenage girl takes a dangerous and obsessive turn.
Wow, that actually sounds pretty damn cool and original! Grab me a backpack and some hiking boots because I’m read to enter these WOODS right now! The emotional feel of this flick is already being compared to SWIMMING POOL and WE DON’T LIVE HERE ANYMORE which is purely par for the course! When can we expect to see this?!
Well, unfortunately, all I know as of now is it’s set to start shooting this winter in and around Los Angeles. I’ll give you more as I hear it.
