To those lucky enough to be attending this year’s Venice Film Festival, we now know you’ll be getting to see Darren Aronofsky’s ethereal chiller BLACK SWAN exactly 3 months before the rest of us!
You see, Fox Searchlight today has set a wide release date of December 1st for BLACK SWAN, which could behoove the picture’s chances come Oscar time. I mean, how can a lesbian exchange between Mila Kunis and Natalie Portman NOT win awards?
As alluded to above, this date comes exactly 3 months after Aronofsky’s flick opens the Venice Film Festival on September 1st. Should build quite a word of mouth between dates!
Also starring Winona Ryder, Sebastian Stan, Vincent Cassell, Christopher Gartin, Toby Hemingway, Barbara Hershey, Janet Montgomery, Kristina Anapau and Ksenia Solo – BLACK SWAN is:
A psychological thriller set in the world of New York City ballet, Black Swan stars Natalie Portman as Nina, a featured dancer who finds herself locked in a web of competitive intrigue with a new rival at the company (Mila Kunis). Black Swan takes a thrilling and at times terrifying journey through the psyche of a young ballerina whose starring role as the duplicitous swan queen turns out to be a part for which she becomes frighteningly perfect.
Once more…BLACK SWAN opens wide December 1st.
