David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson want another X-Files movie

I want to believe there will be another X-FILES feature film. And apparently so does stars Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny.

During a panel discussion at a celebration of the 20th anniversary of the series’ premiere at the The Paley Center for Media in New York Saturday, Anderson and Duchovny told fans that they are game to return for another go-around as FBI agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully in another film, with Duchovny saying…

“All the principals are on board…Gillian and I want to do it, so it’s really up to Twentieth Century Fox at this point.”

Anderson told fans that if they want another film they should let their voices be heard, stating…

“If it takes fan encouragement to get Fox interested in that, then I guess that’s what it would be."

Fox declined comment Sunday, but a third X-FILES movie is probably a long shot. But, as the television series and two feature films showed us time and time again, stranger things have happened.

The truth is out there. Hopefully a third X-FILES film is, too.
