Dawson a Believer

I don’t think there’s anybody out there who doesn’t like Rosario Dawson (pictured). Us genre fans especially love her for various reasons. One of those reasons is because she’s this gorgeous female who does projects that she really likes, not caring about what anyone will say. That’s cool. Stuff like SIN CITY and the fact that she decided to do CLERKS 2 only after hearing there was going to be a ‘donkey show’ in the flick. That’s a real woman!

Rosario is also big on the whole comic book scene, being a co-author of OCCULT CRIMES TASK FORCE and co-creator of TRUE BELIEVER.

The news coming from Variety today states that the Sci-Fi Channel has just greenlit a series based on TRUE BELIEVER with Dawson signed on to develop the pilot.

TRUE BELIEVER is about a comicbook nerd who hires a down-at-heels superhero, the duo pairing up to become crime fighters. Dawson is executive producing with Matthew Spradlin, Tom Feister, and OCCULT CRIMES TASK FORCE co-author David Atchinson all writing the script.

Sounds good to me, especially if this has a dark feel to it. Along with TRUE BELIEVER, Sci-Fi recently announced a BATTLESTAR GALACTICA prequel called CAPRICA and the return of SCARE TACTICS with host Tracy Morgan. To read the Variety article head right over here.
