Day of Dead scribe to direct

Jeffrey Reddick, who has screenplays such as FINAL DESTINATION, TAMARA, and the M.I.A. DAY OF THE DEAD remake under his belt is ready to step up the food chain and sit in the director’s chair for a movie called FINAL CUT.

Reddick spilled his guts to Fangoria about the project: “FINAL CUT has the flavor of classic Stephen King, where we follow the various residents as they are affected by an unspeakable evil,” He said about the project which deals with a villain who brings the fears of a small-town’s people to life. “A lot of places were interested in the script, though they all wanted me to rewrite it and make all the characters teenagers. But with this story, I really wanted to explore how various members of a community young and old, react when they’re forced to confront their demons.“

He’s not divulging who’s in the cast, but he says we can expect some “old school horror names, as well as several wonderful actors who’ve never worked in the genre.”

Note: that photo above is courtesy of Fangoria. It’s Reddick making a cameo as a zombie in DAY OF THE DEAD. Hopefully the movie will make a cameo in any format sometime this year, since I’m beginning to wonder what in the hell happened to it…

The below photo is courtesy of God, and it’s TAMARA star Jenna Dewan.
