You know that in the horror-fanatic community there’s nothing like when two actors from a flick we dig re-team for a second go-round, so fans of Tom Savini’s NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD remake can rub their hands together at the news that Bill “Johnny” Moseley and Patricia “Barbara” Tallman, are reuniting to star in DEAD AIR, a zombie-epidemic flick being shot in L.A. Moseley is more recently familiar to you as that rascal Otis from THE DEVIL’S REJECTS, and Tallman had a succesfull run on BABYLON 5, but for most of us, we first met them as the doomed brother and sister pair unlucky enough to want to visit their mother’s grave on THAT particular afternoon.
I always thought the NOTLD remake got a bad rap, or was just flat-out ignored, whereas it gave me some serious heebie-jeebies when I was a youngster. In addition, Tallman’s Barbara wasn’t the mumbling catatonic she was in the original, but a strong, angry, take-charge chick who took a liking to putting holes through zombies – and hers is a very good performance in a movie filled with them (seriously people, give the film another look).
DEAD AIR also surprises us with the news that it’ll be directed by Corbin Bernsen. Yes, MAJOR LEAGUE, L.A. LAW, THE DENTIST-Corbin Bernsen, and the screenplay was written by Ken Yakkel (who, as we reported HERE just the other day, has his BURNING MAN script going into production, with Ken Foree serving as producer) So you can’t say there are no intriguing names involved with this one. Keep your eyeballs peeled for more news on DEAD AIR, as I’m sure we’ll be talkin’ about it first.
