Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One announces digital release rollout

In Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) and his IMF team embark on their most dangerous mission yet: To track down a terrifying new weapon that threatens all of humanity before it falls into the wrong hands. With control of the future and the fate of the world at stake, and dark forces from Ethan’s past closing in, a deadly race around the globe begins. Confronted by a mysterious, all-powerful enemy, Ethan is forced to consider that nothing can matter more than his mission – not even the lives of those he cares about most.

Christopher McQuarrie directs from a screenplay he wrote with Erik Jendressen, based on the television series created by Bruce Geller. Cruise and McQuarrie produce, with David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, Don Granger, Tommy Gormley, Chris Brock, and Susan E. Novick executive producing.

Tom Cruise, Hayley Atwell, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, Vanessa Kirby, Esai Morales, Pom Klementieff, Mariela Garriga, Henry Czerny, Shea Whigham, Greg Tarzan Davis, Charles Parnell, Frederick Schmidt, Cary Elwes, Mark Gatiss, Indira Varma, and Rob Delaney complete the primary cast.

Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One earned an admirable $567.5M worldwide. Many suspect stiff competition with Barbie and Oppenheimer as the reason for the film’s underperformance in cinemas. Despite not making as much money as the studio had anticipated, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One was reviewed well by critics and fans alike.

Our Editor-in-Chief Chris Bumbray thinks Dead Reckoning Part One is a blast, saying in his review, “As far as action movies go, you aren’t likely to see anything come out in the same league as this until Cruise and company return with Dead Reckoning Part Two. Like John Wick Chapter 4, it proves that the old ways are always better, with less CGI and more actual stunts.”
