Dead Space remake teaser previews video game coming to PC, PS5, and Xbox

I'm not a gamer, so when I hear the title Dead Space what I think of is the 1991 Roger Corman production starring Marc Singer and Bryan Cranston, which was a lesser remake of the 1982 sci-fi horror classic Forbidden World (a.k.a. Mutant). But the Dead Space we're talking about today is the 2008 survival horror video game, which is getting a remake from the folks at EA Motive. A teaser for the new Dead Space video game has been released online and can be seen above.

The game has the following set-up:

A massive mining ship, the USG Ishimura, comes in contact with a mysterious alien artifact on a distant planet and suddenly loses its communications with Earth. Engineer Isaac Clarke is sent to repair the Ishimura's communications, but arrives to find a floating vessel that has become a complete bloodbath. The crew is mutilated and infected with an ancient alien scourge. Clarke's repair mission is transformed to one of survival as he fights to save himself and return the artifact to the planet at any cost.

The Dead Space remake will be available to play on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, but a release date has not yet been announced.

EA sent out a press release with this information in it:

The sci-fi survival horror classic Dead Space returns, completely rebuilt from the ground up by Motive Studios to offer a deeper and more immersive experience. Harnessing the power of the Frostbite game engine and next generation consoles, this remake brings jaw-dropping visual fidelity and improvements to gameplay while staying true to the original."

Although I have never played Dead Space or its sequels, or heard much about them, it does seem like it would be a cool game to play. I like the set-up, and the teaser for the remake looks good. Chances of me playing this one are low, but I understand the hype of those who want to.
