In case some of you have been asleep for the past couple of weeks, The Arrow has been livin’ it up at the Sitges Film Festival, all the while promoting DEADEN. Early this morning (our time), The Arrow gave us a heads-up with regards to the reaction to the film he and Producer/Editor/Director Christian Viel worked so hard on (huh-huh, ‘hard on’…):
The DEADEN premiere was tonight at the Sitges Film Festival and I’m happy to report that it was a success. The crowd (which was surprisingly ample) was so into it, they laughed at the right times, went into moments of random applause during the film and NOBODY left the theatre. Taking into account that the screening ended at 4AM, I was so taken aback at the fact that the room stayed packed. Throughout, I was sitting there listening to the audience react the way they did and I was so f*cking happy… the film worked.
Congratulations to all involved in DEADEN and in particular to Director, Producer, Editor CHRISTIAN VIEL who busted his ass for the film. The film worked. Beers on me when I get back home!
Next stop for DEADEN, the AFM, where we will attempt to lock worldwide distribution.
I think I can safely speak for all of us back here at JoBlo.com and AITH when I say congrats on a kickass showing, Arrow! We look forward to hearing more about the screening (and all the hot chicks) when you get back. For the rest of you guys, you can check out the film’s MySpace blog here.
