Deadly Detention

I’m sure that many of our AITH readers and fellow writers have at one time or another experienced the after-school punishment known as “detention”. For most of us, this ordeal merely involved sitting in a classroom and silently working on our homework. Well, that isn’t necessarily the case for filmmaker Michael Muscal’s (right) next flick called, shockingly, DETENTION.

Muscal (who made his directorial debut with the perfectly titled LITTLE F*CKER had this to say of his latest: “It’s THE BREAKFAST CLUB goes to hell. DETENTION is about a group of kids serving you-know-what at a high school. The kids get trapped by a storm, and then a supernatural force arrives to kill them off, one by one. We patterned the movie after SESSION 9, and are shooting at an actual high school.”

Hmm, could be fun. Clearly Mr. Muscal has a nose for crazy, gory nonsense (see LITTLE F*CKER). Maybe he can get Judd Nelson to make a cameo? But as for now, the cast is comprised of David Carradine (KILL BILL) as the principal (nice choice!), along with Thomas Calabro (ICE SPIDERS) and Zelda Williams (daughter of “Sy the photo guy”, Robin). DETENTION is being directed by B-movie maestro, James D.R. Hickox (CHILDREN OF THE CORN III, SABRETOOTH, and BLOOD SURF) from Mr. Muscal’s script.

Would you mind keeping her after school?
