Lawrence Fishburne could do anything and have it be cool, so there’s nothing but praise for the news that the big man has been offered a role in DEATH RACE 3000 for Paul W.S. Anderson (MORTAL KOMBAT). Apparently he’s being offered the role of the ‘coach’, while Djimon Honsou “is up for the main rival role which was once played by Sylvester Stallone“. Furthermore, the cats over at Latinoreview report that Glenn Close is being offered the chance to play the Warden. As you know, DEATH RACE 3000 is a remake (of sorts) of the cult classic about car drivers taking part in a futuristic, ultraviolent race, with Jason Statham to play the lead. This looks like really a strange cast to me, but it would be cool to see it work out, even in Mr. Anderson’s world of infinite remakes/video game adaptations.
