Deception poster

JoBloJoBlo

In the winner for most generic movie poster of the year goes to… I mean, really. A poster like this can only mean one thing: formulaic! I know you’re not supposed to judge a book by its cover, but that doesn’t mean you can’t judge a movie by its poster! And if we’re going that route for DECEPTION, then things are looking bleak. The film stars Ewan McGregor as an unhappy accountant who gets introduced to a private sex club by his mysterious lawyer friend (Hugh Jackman) and he soon finds himself the prime suspect in the disappearance of a woman. When I first heard about this movie, I thought it could be the next GAME. Then they changed the film’s name from THE TOURIST to the incredibly derivative DECEPTION. Then the trailer was released and it failed to excite. And now, this poster. While this film still has potential, its marketing campaign is bollocks. Check it out on April 25th.
