Well, it seems like after I reported that Guillermo Del Toro was going to be directing a feature film adaptation of HATERS, that he in fact will be instead taking only producing duties. We have been informed exclusively by the incredibly dashing and dapper Jack Rico at ShowBizCafe, who interview the great man last night. When quizzed about his upcoming projects: “No… the reality is that I’m producing ‘Haters’. I’m not directing it. That was just rumors. Really, after Hellboy 2, I have no idea what’s next. If anyone has a movie for me, let me know (jokingly). But there is nothing official, I’d love to [direct it]. But again, the reality is that I’m finishing the movie [Hellboy 2] in July and then I have no idea. Perhaps there will be a surprise. It’s like John Lennon said: ‘Life is what happens while you are busy making other plans.’ When I finished ‘Cronos’ I thought I was going to do 4 movies and none of them have been made!”
So now the search for a director begins!
