Guillermo del Toro is currently working on some movie with little people and rings or something. But that doesn’t stop the evil genius from dreaming of future projects! Back at the end of May he dipped into his future projects a bit… one of which is an adaptation of FRANKENSTEIN!
del Toro recently talked to BBC radio and spilled even more details on FRANKENSTEIN… mainly who’ll be the star! It seems del Toro has his eyes set on buddy Doug Jones to star! It’s unsure whether Jones will be playing the good Doctor or his monster but del Toro definitely wants Jones front and center. Jones is no stranger to del Toro’s work either seeing how he’s starred in HELLBOY, HELLBOY 2, and PAN’S LABYRINTH (above). He also played the Silver Surfer in FANTASTIC FOUR: RISE OF THE SILVER SURFER. So the man loves his visual effects! Which makes me salivate at the thought of him playing Frankenstein’s Monster! Imagine how badass that would be…
Now there’s no question del Toro has a lot on his plate for the next 10 years or so…. so it’s also no surprise that the man has got a lot on his mind. But how comfortable is it to HOBBIT fans knowing del Toro is also hard at work thinking of future projects? Shouldn’t his mind be completely on anything and everything with Hobbits and New Zealand? Alright… I’m just busting some balls here. I’m sure del Toro is going to work his magic and come up with something amazing no matter what project he’s got going on in his mind!
