del Toro’s Monster

Man, it must be hard for Guillermo del Toro to find a job…. for 2020. Considering he’s booked for the next decade the man might be a bit busy. I’m not even going to bother running down his list of upcoming movies, I’m not even going to talk about that HOBBIT crap… instead I’m going to talk about one of the all time classic horror monsters: FRANKENSTEIN.

Now it’s no secret del Toro has expressed his interest in making a FRANKENSTEIN movie. We’ve talked about it here, here, and here. Well it seems del Toro isn’t done talking about the big guy just yet.

ComingSoon.net recently caught up with the genre director to talk to him about his scroll of upcoming movies. He had a few interesting things to say about one Mr. STEIN:

“I’m not doing ‘Mary Shelly’s Frankenstein.’ I’m doing an adventure story that involves the creature. I cannot say much, but it’s not the central creation story, I’m not worried about that. The fact is I’ve been dreaming of doing a ‘Frankenstein’ movie since I was a child. The one thing I can promise is, compared to Kenneth Branagh, I will not appear shirtless in the movie!”

Music to my ears! Read the rest of the article right over here. Del Toro’s take on FRANKENSTEIN definately promises to be something twisted. Let’s hope he tackles this one right after this HOBBIT nonsense… which would mean we’ll be seeing that loveable monster somewhere around… 2011?
