You ever watch a trailer for a horror flick and just think, hey, this just looks like a fun low-budget genre outing. I know that’s not much of a statement, but that’s basically how I felt upon viewing the new teaser trailer for the totally tongue-in-cheek horror/comedy THE LANDLORD. Of course, we’ve got said trailer posted down below for you to take a look at. First off, allow me to rent out the plot:
Tyler is the unfortunate young owner of a demon-haunted apartment building. Finding tenants has never been a problem for Tyler, though he does have trouble keeping them alive to pay rent. No matter how nicely Tyler asks the demons not to eat the renters (or to at least wait a month or two), they never listen. And why should they? As far as the demons are concerned, humans are merely dumb, tasty animals – kinda like chickens – and Tyler is their pet monkey.
But all that might change when Tyler takes a liking to the newest tenant, a desperate young woman running from demons of her own…
See how this LANDLORD has some major fun potential? I’m definitely interested in checking this tenant out whenever it moves in. I know there’s an upcoming screening on April 25th in Chicago, but I don’t live anywhere near Illinois. I guess I’ll just have to wait. The flick was written and directed by Emil Hyde and features a cast that includes Derek Dziak, Rom Barkhordar, Michelle Courvais, Erin Myers, Rob McLean, Kurt Ehrmann, and John Brown.
