Demons to Bloom?

This is a rumor, sure, but it’s interesting if it’s true: after helping the LORD OF THE RINGS to make a bazillion dollars, then making another bazillion for PIRATES OF THE CARRIBEAN, it sounds like Orlando Bloom might be about to join the DA VINCE CODE franchise to score some more scratch. Apparently, he’s about to join the cast of the upcoming sequel (or prequel), ANGELS AND DEMONS alongside Tom Hanks and Gisele Bundchen.

In my opinion, this is Orlando Bloom’s purpose in Hollywood. I know it’s harsh to judge so strongly, but after I tried and failed to watch ELIZABETHTOWN all the way through, twice, I’ve decided that Orlando Bloom cannot carry a film. Therefore, the best use of him is to throw him in a movie to play second fiddle someone who can carry one (eg. Johnny Depp, Viggo Mortensen) and let girls pay their money for a ticket just for a glimpse of his super sexy face.
